The latest mould out of the tool room is a larger hub ring, like the last one it’s a simple open/close mould which you cast from the top. We’ve completed the trial of the earlier mould and it went better than expected with us getting enough good castings to supply as a sample to the customer. Always a good time when the first trial get’s finished quality results, so I’m hoping the result will be the same here as the mould is made in the same way, just larger.

This is our latest mould, it’s a gravity hub. Not too heavy and the manufacture was pretty straight forward. The only concerns are the pins but having done similar versions of this part I’m pretty sure we’ll be ok.

The mould is also using the first of the new iron blocks from Australia. We were having a really hard time getting the level of quality locally here in Malaysia and have moved to get them from a foundry in South Australia that have been making them for years without any problem. The block itself, now it’s finished, has come up great. You need to pay more but you know what your getting.

Hello, welcome to the new Megastra Jaya website. The reason for the change was to allow a “blog” section where I hope to make a number of updates showing off our new parts, moulds & machinery. This in turn will hopefully give visitors a better idea of who we are and what we’re capable of.
